In one sense Le Petit Roc is far from the action, a paradise of peace protecting you from the stresses of everyday urban life. But on the other hand it is a centre of activities, from the pool, to the fields and courts, to the surrounding countryside and rivers of this tranquil corner of the Charente.
During the long, hot days of high summer guest might avail themselves of tennis lessons from Bruce, French conversation with Christine, fit in some early morning walking or horse riding, and experience Saint Emilion wine tasting or one of the restaurants that we recommend.
But outside of July and August, in spring and early summer, or even late summer and early autumn, we will be only too happy to organise a week or long weekend with one or more of our special activities on the itinerary. That might be a week of one on one tennis training with Bruce, an even more exhausting week of French grammar with Christine, a long weekend of wine tasting and slow cooking ( and slow eating!), or a family week combining tennis, horse riding, French lessons and long country walks.
