Pool Terrace
The private terraces all lead down to the main terrace, built around a plum tree and overlooking the pool. It has a large eating area, shaded by a bamboo canopy, which can seat up to 20 people, and a cooking area with barbeque, food preparation areas, washing up basin and electric supply. It is perfect for late evening al fresco meals, and singing and dancing has not been unknown!

The Swimming Pool
Rarely do gites boast such a swimming pool. Surrounded by rolling countryside, then by carefully planted trees and shrubs, and wooden decking, this pool is ideal whatever your age or inclination. At one end it is perfect for toddlers to paddle with parents, at the other for teenagers and adults to dive off the low board into the 2½ metre deep end. Eighteen metres long, it widens from 6 metres at the shallow end to 7 metres at the deep end. There are sun loungers and chairs for those inclined to be less active, a solar shower within the pool area, and a toilet next to the pool house just outside the main gate. The whole pool area is fenced and gated. Just below the pool house is a table tennis table for family fun.

Gardens and Play Area
Sloping away from the pool is the garden with a massive weeping willow as its centrepiece. The lawns are enclosed by fir tree hedges and contain a variety of trees and shrubs. These are ideal for a short stroll, shaded afternoon doze, or family picnic. There are swings, a slide, a Wendy house and sand pit for younger children to play within sight of their parents.

Fields and Platform
The inner gardens open directly onto the sports fields. The lower field provides older children with a full size football goal with net and two five a side goals for inter family matches, and a grass badminton court. There is also a huge, three hundred year old oak tree with a zip line for smaller children. Steps lead up onto the platform on which you will find a full sized sand volleyball court, and a proper petanque court, edged by oak railway sleepers.

Tennis Court
This is between the inner gardens and the lower field. It was constructed over the winter of 2007/08 by M.Drapeaux of Royan and has already witnessed many a classic (holiday ) match. Bruce Evans, your host, is a tennis player and LTA coach and can work as a playing partner or coach.

The Wood
Adjoining the fields, tennis court and platform, and shading them in late afternoon and evening, is the one acre oak wood where older children can find adventure, and adults peace and quiet.
