LES MARRONNIERS

This is a property where the interior matches the exterior, and it would be hard to match the exterior for perfect summer holiday living. The large sliding windows open out from the original barn entrance onto a large, south facing terrace area furnished with tables and chairs for outdoor eating and relaxing. The whole of this private terrace/garden area is shaded by the two marronniers trees, behind which are the pool and gardens. But it is the west terrace which greets new guests, and which is perfect for cool breakfasts and sunset drinks. However, if you’re feeling lazy you might not get beyond the balcony above which provides views over the nearby woods and fields.

Marronniers lounge

The oak staircase takes you up to the large landing area which is equipped with TV and DVD player for use as a childrens’ lounge, and two fold out beds for extra guests. It has French windows which lead out onto the balcony, as does the adjacent bedroom. Along the hallway are the large blue and yellow bedrooms: the yellow has a double bed, single plus bed, with a further single (or two) on the mezzanine, and tiled shower room with w.c.; the blue has four single beds with en suite shower and w.c. Returning to the ground floor the fourth bedroom is to be found at the back of the lounge area and has its own vanity sink.

The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker, grill and hobs, a microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine. The lounge has a large T.V. with DVD/VHS player, a projector and a music system for cassettes, cd’s, and with MP3 compatibility. There is wireless, broadband internet access.

Inside the lounge/dining area is a great space for large groups to socialise, to eat on a rare wet evening, and to take advantage of the home movie system after the sun has gone down; (this room has been decorated with mementoes of the owners’ visits to South Africa and Zimbabwe.) Adjacent is the fully equipped, modern kitchen and entrance hall which opens out onto the west terrace. Across the hall from the kitchen is the downstairs bathroom and shower, with adjoining w.c. and bidet.
