Welcome to Le Petit Roc

Le Petit Roc is an old Charentaise farm which has been restored and developed to create a variety of quality gites, ranging from a four bedroom converted barn: Les Marronniers (sleeps 8-10), a two bedroom farmhouse: Le Figuier (sleeps 3-4), to the one bedroom stand-alone cottage: Le Pommier (sleeps 2-4). For larger groups you can rent the whole of Le Petit Roc to accommodate comfortably groups up to 15 people; ideal for family reunions. Please note: out of courtesy to our neighbours, parties and loud music are not allowed.

All three gites have been finished and decorated to a high standard whilst retaining the original stonework and oak beams. All the gites have Freeview UK TV, DVD players, Wii Consoles plus complimentary Wi-Fi access. Each gite has a selection of DVDs for children and adults as well as a small selection of board games. Air Conditioning is also installed upstairs in all the properties for the summer with the same units used for heating during the winter.

Outside, the focus of the gites is their private terraces which allow for summer living in the shade of surrounding trees. These patio areas all lead down to a large shaded pool terrace which is equipped with a barbeque, large seating area, electric points and sink.

The swimming pool is the centre piece of Le Petit Roc where families can relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding hayfields and sunflowers. It has a shallow beach entry and extends to 18 metres with a deep end measuring 2.6 metres in depth and a diving board for the keen divers. The pool is fenced in to meet the French law requirements and is accessed by a metal gate with child lock. There is a solar shower poolside and a toilet just outside the main gate.

Sloping away from the pool are the landscaped gardens dominated by a magnificent weeping willow. Within the grounds, guests will find a variety of fruit trees and are welcome to help themselves to apples, peaches, cherries and figs when in season.

The gardens lead out to the sports facilities including a tennis court and a large field with football goal and net. On a raised area adjacent to the tennis court there is a full sized sand volleyball court and a petanque pitch in the shade of the oak wood. A table tennis table, dart board, sports equipment and bicycles are also available to borrow onsite.

At the end of the sports field is a one and a half acre wood which provides a great adventure playground for slightly older children.

Surrounding the property are the fields and lanes of several farms, and some quiet hamlets. These quiet tracks are ideal for walking, especially for young families, as the owners themselves have discovered on warm afternoons. Traffic, other than tractors, is rare, and Le Petit Roc itself is at the end of a tarmacked road.
