Swimming Pool

The curved-shaped swimming pool is one of Le Petit Roc's most appealing features.  Bordered by hardwood decking, lavender shrubs and vines and the rolling Charentais countryside, the pool blends beautifully with its natural surroundings to provide the perfect environment for fun and relaxation. The shallow beach entry allows toddlers to enjoy the water safely under the watchful eye of sunbathing parents, whilst the 2.6 metres deep end is home to a diving board for the more adventurous.  18 metres long, it widens from 6 metres at the shallow end to 7 metres at the deep end.  Sun loungers and parasols provide an ideal spot to relax and unwind in the afternoon sun.  The whole pool area is fenced with a gate entry equipped with a child-proof lock. There is a shower poolside and an outside toilet which can also be used for changing, whilst a few steps away there is table tennis available for family fun. It may be possible to arrange private swimming lessons onsite. Pool towels are provided for all guests.

The Pool Terrace:

Each of the gites’ private terraces / gardens lead out to a large communal terrace which overlooks the swimming pool.  There is a large dining area shaded by vines and honeysuckle where families can gather together to enjoy an evening.  There is also a fire pit for roasting those marshmallows!  Please note all barbeques and the fire pit used as guests' own risk. 

Tennis Court

The tennis court is a minute’s stroll from the gites. In the heat of the summer, play is normally restricted to the early mornings and the evenings when the sun drops down behind the oak wood.

Other Onsite Facilities

Table Tennis & Darts:

A table tennis table and dart board are also onsite.

Gardens and Play Area:

In the inner garden, between pool and tennis, is a play area for younger children, with a slide and a swing.

Walking and Biking:

Guests can enjoy an evening stroll in our grounds and around our oak wood, or further afield along the country lanes and through local hamlets.  Or, if you fancy it, borrow one of our bikes (kept onsite in the hangar) and follow one of the nearby cycle routes, or even into Chalais to pick up some local fare (but beware of the uphill ride on the way home!).
